Welcome to Maple Tree Community Housing

Maple Tree Community Housing Corporation owns and operates the Affordable Housing Project developed at 45 Nelson St., Goderich. It houses four 3-bedroom apartments, two 2-bedroom apartments, and six 1-bedroom apartments in a totally re-purposed former retirement home residence. Founded in 2007 by community volunteers and two Goderich Faith Communities as the formal Proponents, Goderich Salvation Army Suncoast Citadel and Bethel Pentecostal Assembly, Maple Tree Community Housing Corporation is a community-based, Faith-community lead, not-for-profit corporation existing with the express purpose to participate in the development, ownership, maintenance and management of affordable housing in Goderich, and to help people of Huron County in need of an affordable home to enjoy a better quality of life. Capital funding has been provided by the Federal Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario and Huron County. A number of other Goderich Churches and volunteers have contributed time, skills, services, and financial assistance. The Maple Leaf Chapter of the IODE have generously donated the funds to install the children’s playground. Annual municipal tax accommodation is provided by the Town of Goderich.
